Ahh, for find number 10 of the day, this cache brings back a lot of memories. Not of like... growing up or anything specifically, but several other caches have been hidden in a not too dissimilar manner. Thus, armed with previous knowledge of potential hiding spots, I set about beginning my hunt.

Oh, but it wasn't going to be all that easy, it seems. Although, in making my preliminary search of the "Hunk o' Junk", I discovered that this particular hunk was in a lot better condition than the previous caches that had the similar hiding manner. It definitely had me questioning whether it should be defined as 'junk' or not anyway... I think that with a bit of effort and a few gallons of WD-40, this piece of machinery might actually be capable of movement or use again ToungeOut.

But anyhoo, after my initial hunt, I stepped back and had a careful look around and listen to see if there was anyone else checking out the Kudlowich buildings. Thankfully, I heard not a thing, and felt as though I could continue my search unimpeded. About 15 minutes of searching later, I had either managed to look through, or poke my hand into every nook and cranny that I thought I could find in the area. At about this time however, I heard the voices of others coming near. Taking on a more relaxed appearance, I took the time to just observe all of the buildings and machinery in the area. Where I grew up, things not to different than these were kicking around all over here and there. Again... the items in this area seemed to be a lot more complete, or in better condition as a whole.

The couple happened to be passing by on bikes however, and didn't come into the opening at all. Continuing the search, I began to wonder what I could be missing. Time to check my palm pilot for the description and last few logs, methinks!

Unfortunately, the cache description offered nothing new (seeing as I had never planned on climbing it to begin with), and the few previous logs in Cachemate didn't help at all either. Looks like I was on my own. Doing another circle around, I eventually pulled a 'scott.and.julie', and found the cache! Much like them, I think I may have searched here earlier, but again... from the wrong angle. Ah well... alls well that ends well and such BigSmile.

Signing up the logbook, I put a chainmail ball into the cache container and returned it to it's hiding spot. Definitely a bit of a challenge to find this one... it's 2-star difficulty is almost an understatement ToungeOut.

Thanks for getting me out to this homestead area though! I never knew it existed prior to going after this cache, so it was a pleasant surprise for me when I arrived BigSmile.

Took: About 35 minutes
Left: Logbook entry and chainmail ball
