Easy Drive Up Cache but watch for Muggles

This cache is placed in a small park set up to commemorate the 100th anniversary of schooling at this site 1889-1989. My children and my husband attended this school. It was torn down in recent years to make room for the expanding student enrollment and a new school was built at a site in the heart of the new development that has more than tripled the size of our community. The school that stood on this site had 4 classrooms - 2 grades per class, a library and two rooms in the basement one for indoor sports and the other served as the community hall.

The cache is a small container with a screw top lid painted black with small school/children related items. When placed it had a couple of pencil sharpeners a pair of boing shoe laces, two foam stamps, a Canada key chain, a puzzle and some small word shapes.

Found it 10/17/2006 by Kabuthunk
This was a relatively easy find. However, the lack of trees (well, big trees anyway) or anything immediately nearby let the wind whistle straight into me as I was going for it, but I found it pretty quickly. I've gotta say... it it being here, I'm actually quite surprised that it hasn't been found by random kids or something. Then again, this monument thing is to commemorate a school, so kids will likely keep away ToungeOut.

In either case... I had a very specific reason for coming out in this direction. I've been meaning to head out in this direction to drop off a geocoin that's supposed to be going West, but has been consistantly working it's way east for the past bit. Figured if I took it to the West end of the City, there's a good chance that someone will find it on their way out of the city and be able to move it a good deal West. Dang... in retrospect, I probably should have slipped a small piece of paper into the little plastic thingy it's in saying "Going West" or something. Oh well... hindsight being 20/20 and such. In either case... cool little monument in the middle of a triangle of grass. Kinda fitting that this particular geocoin is here too, since it's called a 'Kid's Geocoin'.

Took: Nothing
Left: Logbook entry, chainmail ball, and Geocoin
