Yes! YES! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!! At long last, an arch-nemesis has fallen!

And by arch-nemesis, I of course mean 'previous DNF' ToungeOut. In fact, it's my OLDEST unresolved DNF to date (well, except one that I tried to find shortly after it was archived and I didn't know about the archiving. I don't count those though ToungeOut). And THIS time... campus security didn't even come within eyeshot while I was hunting around for this fella Smile.

However, for added "not-looking-suspicious-like-I-apparently-do", I wore light-coloured clothing, wore a regular, plain, beige winter jacket instead of the trenchcoat, and also went with my friend "Cringin", who is still a student at the U of M. This way, if anyone DOES stop us, at least I'm with a student so there's at least a little bit more legitimate reason for us being there. Not that it ever came up, but at least we had the excuse available.

In either case... we wandered around until we found a method with which to reach stage 1. After a scant 2 minutes, it was located and we worked our way towards stage 2. Nice warning on stage 1 there. Oh yeah, we were totally thinking about it until we read the warning ToungeOut. But yeah... actually found stage 2 relatively quickly. Took about 5 minutes or so for me to locate it... and another 2 or 3 to find a way to extract it. The cache container was fairly full, so I put a micromail ball into there though. BUT... yes... signed me some logbook, and my most feared cache (well... fear of being hauled off-campus by security, or whatever it is that they do) has fallen!

Took: Nothing
Left: Logbook entry and micromail ball

Well, gave a second attempt at this one today. No dice on stage one still. Didn't get to spend all that much time though. Not being sure whether it's outside or inside, I tried the former first. Of course, someone is doing work inside one of the rooms RIGHT where the coordinates are trying to point me towards. Couldn't get close enough to do a thorough search. Pretty certain that this person saw me as I was walking away though, mainly due to an... occurance... later on.

So anyhoo... I wandered inside, where I miraculously still had a signal enough to see how close I could get. Again, I couldn't get very close, but that's mainly due to the limitations of the hallways I could go down. And someone decided to sit in the hallway RIGHT where I figured stage one would be close to, IF it's even inside... which I'm still doubtful of, due to attributes of this cache.

But that's besides the point. A few minutes later, campus security (three guards worth) came up to me and said I fit a description for a call they got of someone acting suspiciously. Safe assumption it was probably that person who saw me outside walking around. Not even crouching or looking or anything, but just walking. Bah. I swear, trenchcoats are getting a bad name nowadays. Psychos have got to stop wearing them... making it worse for people like me who actually like them. In either case... they called in my name to... wherever... seeing if there was anything on my name. Surprise, surprise, not a thing. You won't even find so much as a speeding ticket on my name, so good luck.

But yeah... that kinda killed the geocaching for the day. Odds are I won't even reattempt this one unless I get around to asking for a little more information as to the location of stage 1. Last thing I need is some nervous freak to put a restraining order on me because I walked within 40 feet of a window they were at. Bah.

A kinda half-hearted attempt at this one. Was on my way out of the U of M caching and decided to give this a vague attempt. Someone however was studying or doing something right at one of the windows like... right there... so I decided to leave it for the day. I'll be having to come back to the U of M to tackle several other caches, so I don't mind this one making it a more full day here Smile.
