And it's not just movies, tv shows that she loves are collected too if possible. Usually used from CEX or anywhere else we run across them, but she's a film buff, she loves to collect them, and throw them on here and there when there's nothing worth watching on the telly. Or something was on that had a particularly good actor, like Vin Diesel in Pitch Black, that got us to watch the first two Fast and the Furious movies in the several days following.
Lord of the Rings, can't go wrong, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy she goes on about quite often. I collected all of the Blair Witch movies y'know, because. Series movies, action movies, classic movies, horror, every genre, it seems they just keep going!
And this is only half of what it could have been! Back when Abby moved out from her parents' place, she had left half of the collection there for just size and weight, and unfortunately at this time all of those had become unplayable from having sat in a shed that became unprotected from the weather over time. So some of those older movies have been reacquired, and otherwise, the collection keeps growing!
I don't suspect that I'll be updating this page with every new movie, like I said that would just get excessive, but when there's a major change like re-organizing the set alphabetically, or getting a proper display case for them (the former generally happening when we get the latter). Until then, this selection is easy enough to scan through to find what we want, and -somehow- Abby remembers everything that's in there. Like I said, she's the movie buff, I collect the occasional random (Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course yo, I had to get it region 2 to play in England!)
Now, I did have a big collection at one point, but got rid of the vast majority of them when shrinking my footprint in the various purges over the years. Seems I can't get away from them though lol. No matter anyway, they would have been North America region 1 anyway, and I wouldn't have wanted to get them in region 2, just the rare few gems (Into Great Silence, Atanarjuat, a few others).
And so, we'll see what changes with this stack over time.
