This park can always use another cache. You are looking for a small 3" camoed "Beach Safe" tube. It only contains a logbook and the FTF Certificate. BYOP |

Third of three for the day. Well... if you count the CITO event as one of them. Which I do . Went to find this cache with Wagonmaker today. We had just finished the CITO event at the Greenway, and were still itching for some geocaching. However, since both Wagonmaker's and my gloves were drenched with smelly ditch water from the CITO, poor Wagonmaker had to make the cold, cold trek bare-handed. I luckly had some of those ridiculously thin black gloves that you can pick up at like... the dollar store in my geocaching bag. It wasn't much... but it at least helped keep the wind off of them, and retained a BIT of the warmth.
Oh, it snowed today by the way. It had basically stopped by the time we went after this geocache... but it was cold enough to snow, so that says enough .
Anyway, after some filling hotdogs in the post-CITO gathering, we headed towards the cache. One chilly trip later, and we began to near the coordinates. We were both cold when we got near ground zero, and were regretting having brought a can of iced-tea from the picnic with us. With one hand holding the GPS and the other holding the can, it made for one too few hands to be able to search . Pretty much just as I put my can drink temporarily down on a nearby stump, Wagonmaker made the find. He had a bit of difficulty actually obtaining said cache, given his hands were apparently frozen stiff. And he was trying to do this while still holding his own can drink . How he managed not to drop that ice-cold can, I'll never know.
But... the cache being found, we opened it up and signed our names. One micromail ball later (was debating whether to put a full size chainmail ball in, but then the logbook wouldn't fit properly), and Wagonmaker replaced the cache from whence it came. Again... a bit of a surprise since he probably couldn't feel his hands. I had begun trying to offer to handle the container and whatnot (him having dropped his pen from the cold earlier kinda tipped me off a bit), but before I could begin to talk, he had already replaced the cache. Gotta say... it's pretty damn well hidden in there. I didn't see where Wagonmaker had retrieved it from, as I was putting down that can drink, but seeing it hidden afterwards... quite the nice spot .
So, our mission accomplished, we headed off on our next adventure. That being another geocache nearby for Wagonmaker, which I had already found .
But thanks for the cache, and adding a bit more to the park that I've always thought could use more caches . It also gave us something to go after while the CITO event wrapped up and the others ate... a win-win situation .
Took: Nothing
Left: Logbook entry and micromail ball
