Placed in memory of Peter and Gloria's cache that was located close by. THERE IS NO NEED TO CLIMB BRIDGE. THE CACHE IS NOT ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RAILING. CACHE IS NOT IN LOCKED BOX. Cache is a magnetic key container and contains log only, bring a pen. Please be very stealth, this is a high muggle area. PLEASE KEEP FEET ON GROUND AND DO NOT CLIMB ANYTHING.

Well, this was a rather entertaining cache. And for a while, I wasn't sure if I'd even be able to locate it. And as well, I'm actually rather glad that I happened to take as long as I did finding it, since finding another geocacher 'in the wild' is so very, very rare (for me at least).

My actual purpose for being out wasn't so much geocaching... if anything, the geocaching was a cover for me going out to get my wife's birthday present (mission successful on that one to boot). Since picking that up ended up taking all of like... 15 minutes, I figured I'd head over to the forks to do some shopping around, as well as see what geocaches were kicking around that I hadn't found yet. Also, I've had a travelbug for too long, so I've been feeling guilty about not dropping it off sooner, and had promised myself to do as such this weekend. Turns out... there were several . One of them I knew of the existence of from back during the Dragonboat races, but the other two (this one included) were fresh to me. However, I was at a bit of a handicap today, since my palm pilot's battery was stone dead... thus, I didn't have any of the cache descriptions or hints or anything with me. Flying blind except for the coordinates, cache name, and difficulty/terrain.

So amidst my waiting for the GPS to get a signal, I wandered around a bit, and when it finally had a lock I found myself about 150 meters from this cache. Off I went! When it started to take me over towards the bridge (which after reading the cache description, I wouldn't so much describe as a 'wooden' walking bridge... more like a steel bridge which just happens to have a layer of wood to walk on), I began to wonder how this would work, since I distinctly remember a cache being right around there in the past. Evidently, Peter and Gloria's cache is no more, and this cache has now taken its place. Hey, works for me. It was a fairly nice day out, however there was a bit of a chill in the air which kept the pedestrian level somewhat lower than I'm sure it could have been. Amidst my searching, I DID have to stop numerous times to allow pedestrians to meander past while I gazed out at the soon-to-be-broken-up river. However, the cache container continued to elude me.

At about the time my GPS kept trying to drag me further South, I noticed another person along with his wife and daughter kinda slow down near ground zero and try looking nonchalant while glancing at his cellphone. He looked vaguely familiar, so I decided to take a stab at it and walked up, asking if they were geocachers, while at the same time holding up my GPS. They were indeed! Tracker 70 and I introduced ourselves, and we had a bit of a chat while hunting for the cache. My GPS was dragging me back North a bit again, and his was in that general vicinity as well. There was one area where I was a bit hesitant to put my hands, but given it was about the single only place I hadn't searched yet, Tracker 70 and I quickly located the cache container attached to exactly that place . As an added bonus, I also passed along Lina's Travelbug to him, since it would have been pretty hard-pressed to fit into the cache container. I mean, it's a really small TB, but with how much space the ziplock bag was taking it, it would have been questionable to get it into there at best. Otherwise, one quick signing later, and we bid farewell until the next event where we'd likely run into eachother next.

Turns out we ran into eachother shopping in the Forks like... 15 minutes later, but the NEXT time I'm sure will likely be at an event .

All in all, this was a fun cache, and I always enjoy running into other cachers in the field.
