This is a traditional cache hidden by Deacons Corner, on the TransCanada highway just East of Winnipeg. This cache was originally part of the Scrabble game series. About This Cache This winter friendly cache is an ammo box hidden by a popular truck stop and has lots of room for travel bugs. There's plenty of snowmobile traffic in the winter, so keep an eye out for speeding sleds. In the summer you'll be exposed - but likely ignored. When you replace the cache, make sure it's tucked away safely so it won't fall out. Please don't sit on the base of the signposts - they collapse under weight. If you take the TransCanada Highway across the floodway you can see the four bridges constructed in 2007 for the floodway expansion project. Many of you will remember the Salisbury house that was here for years and years. When the PetroCan expanded to better accommodate the volume of truckers, the Sals was replaced with an A&W. I sure miss breakfast at the Sals – the booths were dated red naugahyde with dark, worn laminate tables. The restaurant was usually full of smoke and just about everyone who came in off the highway looked like they had a story to tell. I'm sure the truckers appreciate the roomy pad and improved facilities – but I bet they wish they could order a Nip! Scrabble Results Congratulations to the following Scrabble winners:

Second cache ever found while using a GPS system! I'm surprised that a cache of that size could fit in there. Gotta make sure you put it in the right way or it'll be unbalanced. Otherwise... I remember crossing by this thing quite often as a kid. Nice to have a cache to remember the area by :}
