Round 2... FIGHT! [/Street Fighter II announcer voice]
Yep... after work today... I had gloves... I had a little bit of time to spare... and I had a mindset of going after that cache that I missed, or freeze trying .
So I drove by, checking it out... kinda blindly hoping that someone had gone after it since I did, and maybe created a bit of a path and did the work for me. No such luck. However, as mentioned... I had a mindset going.
I decided to scrap the temporary idea of plastic-bagging-and-rubber-banding my shoes... since I figured the bags would either rip, or the rubber bands would most surely snap like twigs once they got cold. Hence... I just tied my shoes tigher than... something... really tight... and stuff. Yeah.
Anyway... two tightened shoes later, I headed out of the car into the brisk afternoon. I checked out the vicinity closely, to see if I could discern where previous finders had entered the area. Making my choice, I circled the shack-building structure, and started at it. I figured I could gain access from one of two points. Point one proved to be fruitless... but access point two was a success! Took me a good several minutes of hunting around, but shortly thereafter my hand whapped against something solid. A CACHE WAS FOUND!
It was kinda frozen solid, and was rather stubborn in regards to opening, but it quickly gave way. A very quick signing of the logbook (seeing as I was friggin' freezing by this point... needing to remove my gloves to work with the pen), I closed 'er up and put it back. I also kinda knocked some snow over it, so it wouldn't be quite so obvious to anyone seeing why tracks were leading to this location.
Side-note: When I found the cache, one of the four sides of the Lock N' Lock wasn't clasped, and it refused to clasp for me as well. I don't know if it was jammed with ice, or bent or broken, but it's got three sides clipped down, and I was way too cold to try to investigate further. It should hold though, as far as I can see.
Note: I was about to drop some of my TB's into it, but quickly realized that I forgot them at home >_< Very sorry 'bout that. They'll be dropped off as soon as I can. Same with the ones that I own and just created... but those'll be after I take a picture of 'em.
Took: Nothing

Well, it was relatively obvious where the cache had to have been hidden.
Unfortunately for myself, brand-new work shoes + foot and a half deep snow = will have to call this a DNF for the time being . I may have been a bit more convinced to go after it if I hadn't ALSO forgotten my toque+gloves at home on this particular day .
Fear not... I WILL tackle this cache... even if I have to bring Safeway bags with me to work, so I can wrap my feet in plastic before diving into the snow and digging after it .
