Team Sky

To expand the sky... whatever that means! If you're a fan of MandJTV (Michael Groth media) (Team Sky playlist (YT) specifically), you will be well familiar with this symbol. Or Pokémon in general, there's a good chance that you've heard of Team Sky. This series is SO hilarious, and I've been watching it since it began in 2021. Now, they've always had tshirts for sale, but I just couldn't justify buying one, yet. I do however have no qualms telling others they should buy stuff (MandJTV merch), and will be doing so myself in the future. But I've been wanting their logo, to join Team Sky, ever since they turned good (canonically, they started as an evil team, then turned good). And y'know, it's currently too painful to buy a tshirt that, and no keychains or such are available. And so, I set out to make my own, not a keychain, but a logo that I can hang on the wall. And so, I started by tracing the logo outline from an image on my phone screen, cutting that out, putting that onto some hardboard, cutting THAT out, and that gave me a diamond shape to work with. With some careful measuring and linework, we planned the build. I'd originally tried just painting the hardboard, but that material is too difficult to work with directly, so several layers of spray varnish later, and we had a smooth, non-porous surface to work with. From here, we used our template and masking tape to draw sharp, straight lines, filled in the yellow, varnished it all with a few layers of that green-tinted varnish from the Staff of Technology project to green up the yellow a bit, and coated that with a thick layer of nailpolish topcoat to smooth the paint all over.
