This is by far the most confusing one to understand if you've never played Metroid. If you don't understand, just... play the game or look for some screenshots or something. Or read Planet Zebeth. That'll pretty much explain everything.
The association between Mother Brain and the Turretfire coaster is as well only apparent if you've played the game. The Turretfire is basically the ammunition fired by the defense turrets guarding Mother Brain's lair, whom is the final end boss of the game.
