Cache is a small Lock n Lock hidden on a pay phone. It is well hidded so once you find the phone look hard. There is some pens, pins, log book, light bulb, and a First Finder Prize in the cache. Calling the number will do you no good as payphones in Manitoaba do not accept incoming calls, but they all must be assigned an individual number. There is lots of history in the area, be sure to watch for people walking by as it is a high traffic area. We have included a hint below in the form of a pic below. This will tell you in what location the cache is located and you just have to check the 10 payhone in the area for the right one. It is indoors. Most people will have to translate the language. SUCCESS! I can honestly say that this cache has officially gotten the record for 'longest search at a given time'. That being about an hour and a half straight, no breaks. Normally, I'd walk away and do another one while pondering the last or some such... but not this one. I just stuck to it .
However, I DID get a little bit of a hint on this one. I was informed of a narrowed-down area for this one, giving me approximately 400 or so square meters to look, which included indoors, outdoors, and attacked-to-minor-structures. And look I did. For over an hour .
Well, at least I got my walking quota in today. Must have circled around the area at least 5 times, looking in every possible corner to see if another payphone was crammed into there.
The annoying part is that at about 40 minutes in, I found a payphone that was ONE digit off. The last digit. I managed to locate 988-9879... and come to think of it, about 20 minutes earlier, located 988-9880. So yes... much frustration. However... at least finding the above two numbers gave me hope that I was in the right area.
So of course, I ended up circling the entire 400 square meters again once or twice before finally stumbling across the correct payphone. WOOHOO! Much jubilation ensued. Well... internal jubilation, anyway. Didn't want to give away the cache location. Even made it look like I was making a phone call to avoid arousing suspicion.
Nice spot though. Definitely easy to locate the cache once you locate the payphone. So, I walked over to a seating area nearby and signed the log and lobbed in a chainmail ball. Another puzzle hath been completed .
Added note: The cache still appears to have a "needs maintenance" tag on it. I get the feeling that was from before, most likely.
Took: Nothing (although the bracelet was mildly tempting)
Left: Logbook entry and chainmail ball
