WOOH! That cache took a good bit of looking to find. I actually decided to go after this cache for a very specific reason. The travelbug Big Steel (TBHTTD) was inside of this geocache... and given I've been wanting to create a monstrosity of a geocache myself, I decided to go after it.

On bike.

For the record, when following the road, this cache is about 4.5km from home. Now imagine strapping a 26 pound slab of steel to your back and biking that distance .

BUT... the cache was also close to home, and I was in the mood to geocache. It was a beautiful day for biking, and I had a quest to retrieve a massive lump of steel. Stage 1 actually threw me off for a while. Kept looking in all the wrong places until out of frustration I looked where I thought it couldn't POSSIBLY be... and found it of course .
At which point... I made a rather poor judgement call. I decided to just grab the coords and go over to stage 2... after replacing stage 1 back in it's place. Yeah... that worked well. Didn't realize this was a puzzle-multi type cache... so after being confounded by stage 2 for about 5 minutes, I doubled back and re-checked stage 1. After obtaining some other valuable information from it, I was able to keep going.

And going, and going, and going. Took an unusually large amount of time hunting around. Saw many footprints that seemed to be going the same way as me, so I figured I was on the right track. After spending 40 minutes in one of the muddiest places on earth... with my bike, mind you... until I decided to try a few other thoughts that combined my current line of thought with a new one.

BINGO! I quickly located me some geocache! And beside it... the travelbug "Big Steel". Yeah, I could see it had some issues with fitting in the cache. Traded it for a "Number 4" TB that I had with me. One chainmail ball later, and I was ready for the 4+ km bike ride with that thing strapped to my back. Good times, good times . I got a friend to snap a pic of me with the TB strapped to the bottom of my backpack when I got home, too .
