Oohh... I think this might actually be the first 'Hold 'Em' related cache I've found so far. Of course, the contest is over, and I also completely forgot to look at what cards are available here... so there's at least a dozen different reason why I'm not about to win said contest .
But... that's besides the point. I got to go for a nice walk (albeit a little brisk, but still quite nice) amongst the trees, and that ridge that you go over REALLY kills the sound from McGillivray. Quite nice indeed . A little bit of garbage here and there, but given it's near what appears to be a fairly well used trail, out of immediate sight of public... that's not too surprising.
Pretty easy to find the cache, depending on what side you come from. From the side I happened to be walking by, I could see it almost clear as day. Then again... it was a clear day out, so that probably helped. Also, I knew in general what I should be looking for (such as a container of some such... most likely camouflaged in some form or another), so there's a distinct possibility that that helped as well .
A quick poking around inside the cache, and this time I remembered to drop a chainmail ball in before leaving the vicinity. On the plus side, I could take my sweet time relaxing there for a bit, since there wasn't a soul around. I suppose that's what makes it kinda nice caching at this time of year. No snow (yet... although given I'm actually putting up my online log the day after, I can confirm that it snowed on the 5th), and pretty chilly keeps the bystanders at bay. Not sure how much traffic this path gets on the weekend anyway. No clue if it's for some nearby school or park or something, but regardless... dead empty.
Thanks for the cache, since it's been WAY too long since I've had a good caching day .
Took: Nothing
Left: Logbook entry and chainmail ball (on the first try )
