*** VERY WINTER FRIENDLY *** This is a quick drive up cache. You are looking for a small black cammo'd plastc bottle. It contains a log book and a pencil. Watch out for muggles in the park! Since there weren't many caches in this popular huge park, I went out and hid a few. Good Luck |

Myself and 1purplemonkeydishwasher1 decided to tackle this cache on the way to another one that he had planned to tackle. PMD was set on going to the Zoo Train cache nearby, but for some reason didn't have this waypoint on his GPS. No problem... I've got it, and so we set off from the nearby (in another direction) 'Cache for Christmas' cache (did that seem redundant to anyone else too?).
After some trudging along a path, I plunged my way into the deep, DEEP drifts to get to ground zero. PMD, having only been wearing sneakers (seriously man... you're going to have friggin' cold feet and legs by the end of the day. Don't go getting pneumonia or something) followed the path another geocacher had made previously (I'm guessing crabbything). And off we set to searching!
Although, upon looking at the previous logs, I'm guessing that PMD was kinda 'playing along' for my benifit, as it appears that he located this one on Dec. 2nd .
Anyway, after circling the 'Tall Timber', constantly keeping an eye towards the skies (given the cache's name), I quickly stumbled upon the cache container. I'm actually a little surprised I didn't see it earlier . I've seen other caches hidden in this type of tree, so I figured it'd probably be hidden in a similar manner. In the end, it turns out I was correct. That may have made the search a bit easier. At least it kept me from attempting to climb the tree .
But yeah, the cache was surprisingly well hidden 'almost' in plain sight. Cracking it open (more like just... y'know... opening, not actually snapping it in half ), we signed the logbook and dropped in a chainmail ball, and replaced it as found.
Thanks for supplying me with a cache to go after on the way to Zoo Train. Turns out PMD found this one while I didn't, and I accompanied PMD to the Zoo Train which I'd already found. So we're even .
Third find of the day! I'm actually not sure how many I even found, to be honest... I just kinda kept going until it was starting to get dark, and my wife called to let me know I'll need to pick her up soon anyway. Guess I'll figure out the number eventually .
Took: Nothing
Left: Logbook entry and chainmail ball
