Ahh, this park... that brings back a few memories. I remember having been in this park in the past, there having been a geocache since archived around here. Glad to have had a chance to find a cache it it sometime in Summer this time ToungeOut. But I've been past here multiple times, what with my favourite bike-related store being quite nearby.

Which was exactly where I was headed today. My bike is having some... issues at the moment, in that the bearing assembly for the pedals inside the frame there is making a horrible grinding sound. No clue what happened, alls I know is that the sound is annoying as hell, and I'm fairly certain continuing to try to bike on it will do far more harm than not. So my wife and I took a walk over to there from our apartment, made an appointment for them to give the bike a fixin', and headed out. On the way home however, I was determined to tackle this geocache, having seen it during the walk North. A quick jog across the street, and I was back in the park! My wife decided to take this time to look at the monument and read the plaques, while I went off to find the geocache. I had read these plaques the last time I was here, anyway.

Zipping over towards the coordinates, I made somewhat an assumption as to where I figured the cache would be hidden. I was at somewhat a disadvantage for making assumptions however, since I hadn't previously read the cache description or seen any of the attributes. To say the least, my assumption was horribly incorrect (you know what they say when you assume something... ToungeOut). Continuing to search in a very similar manner, I continued to find... nothing. Having struck out multiple times, I turned my attention to a rather large green individual behind me. After looking around inside of there for a while, I still found... nothing at all.

Huh... rather peculiar. Although, I've been noticing as of late that a lot of caches are being hidden in a vaguely similar way, when located in a setting similar to this one. Using this knowledge, I did a bit more thorough a search, concentrating on this one specific type of hide. It looks like THIS assumption turned out correct, because moments later the cache was spotted BigSmile. Quickly retrieving it, I signed my name into the logbook (looks like someone else found it today as well), and dropped in a chainmail ball.

Although, given the tightness of the lid as a whole, I was a bit worried at the time that it might not be able to hold out water. But thinking about that further now, given the mass amount of rain for the past few days, and how bone-dry the cache was inside... I'm fairly certain that this is not an issue ToungeOut. Nothing like a good solid rain to test the seal of a geocache, of which this one seems to have passed with flying colours.

In either case, thanks for bringing me back to this park again. It was a nice relaxing rest-area for us on a nice, warm walk outside today BigSmile.

Took: Nothing
Left: Logbook entry and chainmail ball
