Quite a nice hide, actually. Coordinates however seemed to be slightly off. Still found the cache (nice spot BTW), so I nabbed the coordinates when I was standing over it (about +-5m accuracy on the GPS), and got N 49° 50.798 W 097° 18.750. Don't know if it was just because of the trees, or if the GPS was just deciding to be off or whatnot, but yeah. Then again... doesn't look like anyone has had a problem finding it to begin with, so s'all good regardless .
But yes... as said before, nice spot. Was about an inch of snow on the ground, but didn't really slow me down at all. However, JUST as I spotted the hiding spot and walked up to it, a dog-walker decided to take that EXACT particular moment to come walking up the trail with two dogs. So what does Kabuthunk do? Why, he tries to look natural and like he's relaxing there. He happened to have his Palm Pilot in his pocket, so he pulled it out and started just... doing nothing on it, really .
Yes... snow on the ground, cold out, guy wearing a black trenchcoat standing in the middle of a foresty area, leaning against a tree writing stuff down in a palm pilot? Not suspicious at ALL! Perish the thought!
But the guy was nice... dogs smelled me for a few seconds, said it was probably because I'm half-covered in cat-hair, and off he went. A few seconds later, the cache was opened and being signed .
