I pity da foo. Be careful when attempting the final -- you're unlikely do any permanent damage to yourself, but it could be a Bad Day nonetheless. Yeah. 'cause you might trip on the sidewalk and stub your toe. Good luck! Yeah, right. |

Wow. To say that this was an adventure would be an understatement. Saw that there was a new cache today, and figured I'd try to get in on the "ground floor", so to speak. What's this count as... thirdsies? TTF? Bronze medal? Eh, something. In either case... quite the adventure, indeed.
After snagging the information that I needed, I headed out. Probably a good thing I have today off (albeit it was a relatively miserable, drizzly, slushy day), since after I was done with THIS whole thing, I'd be damn lucky to even MAKE it to work, let alone just be late for it .
So yeah... headed out in the car, and stopped for gas before getting too far. The car was almost out of gas, so I just about topped it off.
Not that it mattered, since at this point my gas tank is damn near at the exact same place it was before I left for geocaching . Ouch... me poor wallet. It's in pain, captain!
Most of the trek was quite unusual actually. Traffic pretty much any time I was in the car (it's Sunday people! Go home and be with your families or something!), and on SEVERAL occasions actually, I just about ended up getting stuck. Good thing I grew up in the country and know how to handle some mud, and know what my limitations therein are.
My shoes. Ugh... it'll take me a good few hours of work tonight if I plan to get those things clean and dry enough to go to work tomorrow. Methinks those suckers are going to be sitting on the air vents overnight and I'll be wearing my crap shoes tomorrow. Ahh, what we won't do in the name of caching .
So... soaking wet, ice cold, and looking like something a cat dragged out of the sewers, I arrive at the cache location. AT LONG LAST! I can't even FATHOM how long today has been spent on this one cache alone. Probably good that I got those several others today BEFORE this one, since I wasn't really in any shape to do much caching after it .
So... I'll likely have to fill up with gas again tomorrow after this fella drained my tank, do a load of laundry tonight, and be chilled for the evening. But what an adventure it was. Quite the awesome experience, grnbrg. Noone can make a cache into a journey quite like you can .
Took: Nothing (despite the fact that I WISH I had tradeables on me. Some of those metal pins looked really cool. Mental note... carry swag with me other than chainmail balls, as I don't consider those swag... they're signature items ).
Left: Logbook entry and chainmail ball
