AHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!! And it's true. I DID spend an hour catching Bidoofs until that jerk's box was full.
Although, I found an easier way to run into Mesprit, to maximize my catching chances. I noticed that he changes position whenever you go from one "area" to another. Hence... I just stepped back and forth between the Windmill area and the route immediately beside it (since there's easy access to trees very close to you on either side), and kept stepping back and forth until Mesprit showed to be in the area I was standing in. Then I just popped a Repel, had my level 40 Pokemon out first (so I would avoid running into non-Mesprit wild Pokemon), and ran around in the grass until I ran into it. After Mesprit broke free, I simply repeated the process.
HAVE FUN WITH ALL THOSE BIDOOFS NOW, AHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
2021 Kabs here. Boy I was a frustrated person back then. I have long since released this Pokemon, somewhere around 2019 ^_^

MAN, I can't even imagine how lost I am in this godawful maze. And that damn sidehopper is probably still laughing at me from wherever the hell he is. Cripes, where's Metroid-thingy at times like this?
